Heinrich Albert studied horn as a major at the Royal Music School in Würzburg. In 1888 he found his first employment as an orchestra violinist at the Stadttheater Duisburg. A varied musical life as a horn player led him to the theatre orchestras in Würzburg, Regensburg, St. Gallen, Gothenburg, Bad Pyrmont and Interlaken.
In addition to his guitar school, he wrote numerous compositions and arrangements for guitar and guitar songs. His own works show a strong personal touch. Albert’s compositions were included in the concert programs of all renowned guitarists in the first half of the 20th century. In addition to literature for guitar, Albert also devoted himself to instrumental and vocal folk music.
