Lockroy, actually Joseph-Philippe Simon was a French librettist and actor. Later he became a member of the Comédie-Française where he was regarded as one of the outstanding actors and worked as an administrateur général in 1848.
Since 1840 he also appeared as an author of comedies, vaudevilles and opera libretti. His son was the politician Édouard Lockroy.
