Frédéric Chopin (1810 – 1849)

Organ

The tragic and beautiful third movement from Chopin's second piano sonata in B-flat minor, Op. 35, has been arranged for organ by Munich organist and composer Harald Feller. This edition is part of the sacred music series from the University of Catholic Church Music and Music Education in Regensburg.

Fanny Hensel

Mixed Choir (SATB) a cappella

Fanny Hensel's "Gartenlieder" Op. 3, inspired by the Mendelssohn family’s Sunday music, feature texts by Romantic poets and her husband Wilhelm. The songs are homophonic, with the melody led by the soprano voice, and they focus on nature and listening. The critical edition includes early versions and is available in both print and digital formats.

Christoph Schönherr (* 1952)

Solo Voice (Alto), Women’s Choir (SSAA), Orchestra

Christoph Schönherr, an expert in jazz and pop choir, describes his work as inspired by the polarity of the text: joy at Mary’s pregnancy and her bold image of God. This SSAA version was created at the request of women's choirs and is compatible with the SATB version. Orchestral material is available from Carus-Verlag.

Mixed Choir (SSAATTBB) a cappella

Rosita Piritore's work "Shàng Shàn Ruò Shui" utilizes atmospheric soundscapes, interspersed with whispered syllables. It is ideal for ambitious amateur choirs seeking access to contemporary music, offering a clear structure and manageable length. The text is notated in a well-understood Chinese transliteration, with pronunciation aids in the preface. The work was awarded the 2023 "females featured" composition competition.

Included are pieces such as the "Preludio" from "I masnadieri," the "Scherzo" from the String Quartet in E minor, the solo from "Ella giammai m’amò," and the rediscovered "Divertissement" from "Nabucco," as well as opera aria transcriptions and an album leaf.

Béla Bartók (1881 – 1945)

2 Violins, Viola, Cello (String Quartet)

Bartók's most complex string quartet, composed in 1934 as a commission for the Elisabeth Sprague Coolidge Foundation. Bartók wrote it in a few weeks and worked intensively on its form. László Somfai and Zsombor Németh provide important performance notes and Bartók's analysis in their Urtext edition. The edition is ideal for playing with clear notation and practical page turns.

José Siqueira (1907–1985)

Oboe, Piano

The three etudes by José Siqueira offer skilled oboists numerous opportunities to showcase their technical and musical prowess. The sequence of movements, lasting around 10 minutes, shows clear connections to South American music and impresses with strong rhythmic and melodic contrasts. The piano part is of medium difficulty, providing gratifying pianistic tasks.

Howard J. Buss (*1951)

Flute, Trombone

Howard J. Buss's "Diversions" (2009) for flute and trombone includes four movements: "First Impressions," "The Challenge," "By Starlight," and "Carnival." "The Challenge" is a technical duel with theatrical elements and can be performed separately. Important performance notes help maintain the balance between the instruments.

Flute, Piano

A collection of eight of the greatest opera arias, including rarely performed coloratura arias by Handel and Mozart. These arias have been specially edited for articulation and phrasing, allowing the flute to "sing" in true bel canto style. They are ideal as short concert pieces or encores for advanced players.

A new edition for wind orchestra created by Lukas Bruckmeyer. Deliberately kept simple, this arrangement at difficulty level 3 is well-suited for intermediate players. The instrumentation is classical, with the woodwinds primarily taking on the role of string instruments for which the piece was originally composed.

Music edition for the German Evangelical Trombone Day 2024: On 80 pages, it includes both free and hymn-based music that has proven itself at past Trombone Days. The editors of the booklet have also sought to commission or arrange many new pieces for the aforementioned three major events, which they have been able to realize.

Alfredo Piatti (1822–1901)

Carlo Alfredo Piatti's second episode of his works for voice and piano with cello accompaniment is based on the poem "A Farewell" by Samuel Rogers. The edition includes a thorough study of the poem, a complete analysis of the piece, and critical notes highlighting differences from the later version without cello. The original text of the poem is included in the preface.
