Das Stück "Akolo" entstand im Jahr 2023 und wurde beim Carinthischen Sommer vom Spectrum Saxophonquartett uraufgeführt, dem es auch gewidmet ist.
Der Titel ist die Kurzform des griechischen Wortes "akolouthia" (aufeinanderfolgen) und bezieht sich auf die strenge Kanon-Kompositionstechnik, die diesem Werk zugrunde liegt.
Es ist ein Stück, das viele Klangflächen, die ineinander verwoben sind, mit sich bringt und in einen sehr ruhigen Mittelteil mündet, um sich schließlich in einem feurigen Inferno bis zum Schluss in ein großes Tutti fortzuspinnen.
