Die Tarantella op. 22, Nr. 5 des belgischen Violinvirtuosen und Komponisten Henri Vieuxtemps gehört zu den Standardwerken der Violinliteratur. Sie ist häufiger Bestandteil von Wettbewerbs- und Konzertprogrammen, es existieren eine Reihe von Einspielungen.
Bislang noch kaum bekannt ist jedoch, dass Vieuxtemps von diesem Werk auch eine stark überarbeitete Version für Violine und Orchester verfasste, die hiermit erstmals vollständig veröffentlicht wird.
