The outer movements are lively and light hearted, with much dialogue between the oboe and piano. The second movement is more lyrical and reflective, exploiting more the upper range of the instrument.

The piece lasts approximately 12 minutes, it’s a fun piece for a concert, suitable for a player of around Grade 8 standard, with an equally competent pianist.
