Elena Cattinis Orchesterwerk für Kontrabass ist erster Preisträger des Kompositionswettbewerbs BASS 2018 Lucca.
Das Werk enthält Bezüge zum Komponisten Francesco Geminiani (1687-1762), die entweder als Fragmente erscheinen oder im Ganzen zitiert und in ein eigenständiges Werk eingearbeitet sind. Der Solopart des Werkes ist anspruchsvoll und setzt die logische Linie der Kontrabass-Literatur beginnend bei Dragonetti und Bottesini über Koussevitzky fort.
