Strophes Of Sappho

Each Postlude is preceded by a short verse from the poetry of Sappho, intended to be read aloud prior to the performance. though a performance without the poetry reading is equally valid. The Russian and English texts are based versions published in “Poetarum Lesbiorum Fragmenta”, (Oxford, 1955).
