The immortal French song 'Les Feuilles Mortes' (Autumn Leaves) was composed by Joseph Kosma on a text by Jacques Prévert. Kosma worked with Berthold Brecht, Kurt Weil and Hans Eisler in Berlin before he settled in Paris. Together with the poet and scriptwriter Jacques Prévert (1900-1977) he composed some eighty songs. It was singer Yves Montand (1921-1991) who performed 'Autumn Leaves' for the first time in 1955 and it soon became extremely popular. It is one of the 30 most popular songs of the 20th century.
