The Nanga Parbat, literally Naked Mountain, and also known as Killer Mountain is one of the largest and most dangerous mountains in the West Himalayas. At a height of 8125m it is the ninth highest mountain in the world. It was climbed for the first time in 1953. The composer describes the picturesque but highly dangerous acent of this 'King of the Mountains' A very rewarding work for the middle level band.
