Der 1831 geborene Komponist und Violinist Moritz Käßmeyer (auch Kässmayer) ist heute ziemlich vergessen. Zu seinen Lebzeiten in Wien, als Violinist im Hofopernorchester, erfreuten sich vor allem seine Lieder einiger Beliebtheit. Käßmayer starb am 9. November 1884 in Wien.
