Hänsel und Gretel is a late romantic opera in three acts, written in the early 1890s. The music was written by Engelbert Humperdinck, the libretto was written by his sister Adelheid Wette after the fairy tale Hänsel und Gretel from the fairytales of the Brothers Grimm.
