'The Prayer: Laudamus Te' is taken from Jenkins' vibrant 'Gloria', a large-scale festival piece commissioned by the Really Big Chorus for performance at London's Royal Albert Hall. Cast in five movements, 'Gloria' sets the traditional Latin text 'Gloria in excelsis Deo' and incorporates a setting of Psalm 150 in alternative Hebrew or Latin texts.
