Composed in 1963-5, György Ligeti´s Requiem is one of the epoch-making compositions of the twentieth century. In 1997 Ligeti revised the work and made several structural alterations, especially in the choral part. Unlike the earlier scoring for two choruses, the revised text calls for a single mixed chorus.
