Description
Now well known for his virtuosic but highly engaging writing for solo instruments with orchestra, Magnus Lindberg here turns his attention to the cello. The concerto, dating from 199799, is in a highly taut style which travels at a quickstep through all the possibilities of the instrument (Diapason magazine). It has been recorded by Anssi Karttunen with the Philharmonia Orchestra conducted by Esa-Pekka Salonen, for Sony.
