Setting of Lux aeterna, the communion motet from the Requiem Mass, composed in memoriam James MacMillan Snr, the composer's father. Above a drone sustained throughout the three-minute span the voice weaves a restrained yet expressive and ornamented chant, perfectly befitting the text and occasion. Suitable for services of Requiem Mass, funerals and farewell, and the Feast of All Souls.
