A compilation of three gospel choruses by Henry Mollicone. Glory Day! from the opera Gabriel's Daughter and Now I Can See the Light! were both inspired by texts. Both are fast and joyful, while the third work, Hear Me, Redeemer, is slower and more soulful. They all have musical characteristics of the gospel style in common—the quasi-jazzy feel in both the accompaniment and vocal lines, a feeling of free improvisation, and the relatively simple tonality. Requires soloists in all voice parts and a good pianist. Individual movements are available separately.
