A Mighty Fortress is Our God

This partita is based on Martin Luther's best-known chorale and utilizes both its rhythmic and isometric versions. The first movement may also be used as an accompaniment to the rhythmic version, just as the second may be used as an accompaniment to the isometric version. A lively fughetta completes the set of six movements. Written to celebrate the 500th anniversary of the Lutheran Reformation, this partita is part of a collection of six by premier composers and is based on Reformation hymns.
