The object of this work is to acquaint the young piano student with the form of a concerto, even though the material used is definitely not in concerto character. Familiar tunes have been chosen so that the working out of variousthematic material can be followed easily. Melodies used include Dixie, Battle Hymn of the Republic, Home on the Range, and the Yale Boola Song.
