Tregian in den Jahren seiner Haft im Fleet-Gefängnis zusammengestellt und 1619 vollendet wurde. Aus dem reichen Inhalt an Virginalmusik besorgte Grete Zahn eine geeignete Auswahl. Dabei ordnete die Herausgeberin die Oberstimme der Sopranblockflöte zu und fasste den übrigen Notentext unter Wahrung der Vorlage zu einem Begleitsatz zusammen.
