Melinda Latour received her Ph.D. in Musicology from the University of California, Los Angeles in 2016. She received an M.A. in Musicology from the same institution in 2011, as well as an M.A. in Ethnomusicology from the University of California, Riverside, in 2009. She has published work on early music in the Journal of Musicology (2015), the Revue de musicologie (2016), and the Cambridge History of Sixteenth-Century Music (2018). And she has published an edited collection on popular music (co-edited with Fink and Wallmark), The Relentless Pursuit of Tone: Timbre in Popular Music (Oxford University Press, 2018).
