- Bus Stop
Pop und Rock
Bus Stop was written by the British songwriter Graham Gouldman (b. 1946) who later found fame as a Bassist and Vocalist with the Pop Rock group 10cc . It was written for the pop band The Hollies in 1966, who recorded and released it as a single in the same year, reaching No.5 on the UK singles chart. It was also their first US top-ten hit. Bus Stop tells the story of two people who meet while waiting for the bus on a wet day and share an umbrella, falling in love. It was supposedly part-written by Gouldman’s father, who came up with the first line, which was then expanded and finished on the bus. This classic song has been arranged for Piano, Voice and Guitar.
