The "Song of Hiawatha" is a musical composition in which Coleridge-Taylor set H.W. Longfellow's text to music. The program notes contain a biography of Coleridge-Taylor: he was born in London to an English mother and a Sierra Leonean father, was trained in music, and wrote for voice and instruments.
