Die Jazz Studies sollen wie klassische Etüden geübt werden. Bei den Übungen mit Harmoniesymbolen handelt es sich um typische Akkordfolgen, wie sie z.B. häufig in Standards vorkommen. Hier lernt man, schwierige harmonische Klippen geschickt zu umschiffen.Die Stücke sind bewusst so angelegt, dass auch eine tiefe Atmung für lange musikalische Phrasen trainiert wird. Um das harmonische Verständnis zu fördern, wurden viele Studies mit einer Klavierbegleitung auf der beiliegenden CD aufgenommen.
