Johann Ludwig Krebs komponierte nach dem Vorbild seines Lehrers Johann Sebastian Bach ebenfalls eine vierteilige Clavier-Übung. Als 2. Teil erschien zwischen 1744 und 1756 die zwölfteilige Suite in C. Während sich Krebs in der Orgelmusik stilistisch noch an seinem Lehrer orientiert, ist seine Klaviermusik vom musikalischen Epochenwandel um 1750 geprägt.
