Ich schrieb "Danses" im Herbst 2009 auf Anregung der Pianistin Jovita Zähl hin. Ihr Vorschlag fiel bei mir auf fruchtbaren Boden, da es mich reizte, die (gegenüber zweihändiger Sololiteratur) gesteigerten klanglichen und satztechnischen Möglichkeiten von vier Händen anzuwenden. Die Anregungen und Vorbilder für diese Stücke sind zu zahlreich, um sie alle aufzuzählen. Stellvertretend erwähnt seien Maurice Ravel, György Ligeti und Yoko Kanno. (Philipp Kronbichler)
