RUNDELs Pops for Brass (Sextett) 31
In the 1970s, numerous dance clubs bearing the name "Disco" emerged worldwide. Simultaneously, a distinct music style was developed, specifically tailored for the disco audience. This music style was characterized by elaborate arrangements and flawless studio recordings, which gave it a magnificent sound. Artists like Gloria Gaynor and Donna Summer were declared Disco Queens. A well-known symbol of that era was the sparkling disco ball hanging above the dance floor, casting glittering light effects onto the dancers.
In his composition "Disco Ball," Lars Ericsen aptly captures the charm of that era in the characteristic disco style. When listening to this piece, one can easily envision the dancers of that time, with long hair and brightly colored bell-bottom pants, gracefully dancing under the sparkling light of the disco ball.
