Description

At every audition flute players are required to perform both the Mozart concertos and orchestral excerpts, and so as a logical extension of the two-part edition of „Audition Concertos“ we are presenting „Audition Excerpts“ for two instruments. The qualitative effect of a two-part – virtually orchestra-based – version does not need to be emphasized again: the four-part score published in 1986 has been accepted and is in use all over the world and will retain its place in ensemble instruction. It is being supplemented, however, by this new edition, which opens entirely new perspectives for study in individual lessons.

The two volumes containing the solo parts (Syrinx No. 2 and Syrinx No. 57), which have been incorporated into the present edition in direct correspondence, can thus be used with both the four-part and two-part editions. These pieces – a must for any flutist preparing for an audition and an integral part of instrumental training – can be rehearsed with the teacher or with fellow students and the accompanying parts read from the score on a separate music stand. As in the four-part edition and the solo books, the orchestral excerpts have been arranged in the order of how often they are required for auditions and not alphabetically or chronologically.
