Uluru - Kata Tjuta
Concert and Contest Collection CBHA
"Call of the Aboriginals" was commissioned by the Nara Municipal Ichijo Senior High School Symphonic Band from Nara City in Nara Prefecture (Japan) on the occasion of its 60th anniversary. Uluru is a huge island mountain in the endless expanse of the Australian outback. The Uluru, also known as Ayers Rock, is listed as a UNESCO World Heritage Site. It is considered a sacred site by the Aborigines of this area, the Pitjantjatjara Anangu, but is also a popular tourist destination today, which causes cultural and ecological conflicts. Written in a style typical of the composer, this work tells of a dramatic adventure inspired by the life of the natives and the wonderful landscape of Uluru. The work is suitable for competitions as well as thematic concerts.
